The Orion Township Clerk’s Office and the Orion Township Public Library are proud to announce their participation in a national, nonpartisan effort to increase the political participation of people with disabilities. This effort, known as the REV UP Campaign, has designated July 15-19, 2019 as National Disability Voter Registration Week in advance of the November elections.
Clerk Penny Shults and her staff will be at the Orion Township Public Library on Monday, July 15 and Wednesday, July 17 from 10:00 am – noon and 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for Orion residents to register to vote with Voter Assist Terminals designed to help those with disabilities.
The REV UP Campaign, coordinated nationally by the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), focuses on voter registration, education, and engagement. REV UP stands for Register! Educate! Vote! Use your Power!
AAPD is pleased to once again partner with EveryLibrary to bring National Disability Voter Registration Week to libraries across the country. In 2017, over 150 libraries across 46 states participated in NDVRW through programming, outreach, public education, voter registration partnerships or on-site services.
