Lady Dragons Continue Dominance on the Track

Girls Track & Field Team Remains Undefeated in OAA Red

The girls track & field team defeated Rochester last night 82-46 to remain undefeated in the OAA Red Division with a 3-0 record. Because of their depth, the Lady Dragons were able to secure several first place victories in all the major event areas, including three of the four relays. The highlight of the meet was sophomore Sophie Novak breaking a long-standing school record in the 1600m run with a winning time of 5:05.99. Novak also won the 800m run and was a member of the winning 4x800m relay team.

The following girls finished first in their events:

  • Senior Melissa Symons in the 100m hurdles, 200m dash and the 4x200m relay
  • Senior Madison Eaton in the 300m hurdles and the 4x200m relay
  • Senior Cassie Moreau in the shot put
  • Junior Sarah Griffin in the long jump
  • Freshman Alayna Tisch in the 100m dash

The girls and boys teams will be competing at the Oxford Invite next Saturday, April 27 at Oxford High School.

Girls Track & Field Team Wins Oxford Invite

The girls track & field team continued its season with a big win at the Oxford Track & Field Invitational at Oxford High School defeating 18 other schools. The Lady Dragons scored 101 points to finish ahead of second place Farmington (72.5 points) and third place Birmingham Seaholm (63 points).

The team was led by 1st place performances from Madison Eaton in the 100 meter dash and 300 meter hurdles, Sarah Griffin in the pole vault, and Sophie Novak in the 800 meter run.

The Lady Dragons will be back in action this week with a dual meet against Clarkston High School on Wednesday and the New Balance Track & Field Invitational at Farmington High School on Saturday.
